ThanksGiving
Thanksgiving Day is celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November in United States of America and on the 2nd Monday in October in Canada. It is an annual tradition. It was historically a religious observation to give thanks to God.
It is thought that the first thanksgiving was celebrated to give thanks to God for helping the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony survive their first brutal winter in New England. The first thanksgiving feast lasted three days providing enough food for 53 pilgrim and 90 Native Americans. The feast consisted of fowl, venison, fish, lobster, clams, berries, fruits, pumpkin and squash, including an American tradition of eating Turkey at Thanksgiving.
This year Thanksgiving 2010 will be celebrated with the same rejuvenation thanking God for his blessing bestowed on mankind. From the beginning of October in Canada and beginning of November in United States every mall and eating out places have different thanksgiving deals. Families are planning get togethers, mothers looking for new and different or traditional thanksgiving recipes to cook for their families and friends. As the thanksgiving holidays are already planned out beforehand everybody enjoys it to the most. On the thanksgiving weekend people celebrate by meeting up at thanksgiving points to celebrate and remember the special occasion.
